Being healthy is a right, not a privilege. Unfortunately for our communities that are underrepresented, underserved, and struggle to have their needs met, this isn’t always the perceived truth. After working to empower youth and at-risk families to become self-advocates for their health and the health of their communities, I’m so proud and grateful to be part of an organization that supports these communities by building networks of changemakers, making services more accessible, and supporting health equity.
– Jasmine Martinez, Community Engagement Manager
Over the last decade, I have focused on serving the needs of and advocating for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their caregivers. This population is oftentimes overlooked or under-resourced after the child leaves the K-12 school system. The Unite Us Platform will allow organizations to both receive and send referrals, expand access to services, and improve their clients’ overall quality of life.
– Carla Reyna, Community Engagement Manager
Everyone deserves access to high quality social and health care, no matter the color of their skin, zip code, or socioeconomic status. I am so grateful that I get to move the needle forward to creating healthier communities alongside local leaders everyday!
– Liz Cowley, Network Growth Manager
In my two decades working in children’s policy and advocacy in California, one of the greatest barriers to increasing funding for essential services has been the lack of visibility into the important work led by community-based organizations. Unite Us addresses this by empowering those organizations to capture impact information as they connect individuals to services. I believe this data will transform our ability to successfully advocate for sustainable funding for community programs.
– Moira Kenney, Network Director, California
I have spent my whole career building elements of coordinated care networks in different settings that focus on improving the experiences of people in need of support, and generate actionable data for accelerating policy change and program improvement. Rooted in communities across the country, Unite Us weaves together the different elements and also views our platform as a springboard for long term finance and systems change. The future is here!
– Ellen Dektar, Senior Community Engagement Manager
I joined Unite Us because, as a lifelong resident of the Central Valley, I have seen how our communities are often the last to benefit from new technology and systems-level advancements. I’m proud to say that the region is now leading the state in connecting public agencies, 211s, and community organizations.
– Kendra Devejian, Senior Community Engagement Manager
My work throughout the greater Sacramento region has always focused on increasing coordination and breaking down silos. I’m now so happy to be part of a team that not only provides a tangible solution, but does it in an easy to access and sustainable way - which are key to truly make lasting and meaningful change when it comes to social determinants of health and care.
– Casanya Ursery, Network Growth Manager
